Not so long ago Medical Sales Recruiters had TONS of jobs and we had to really hunt for people who wanted to make a career move. Now, we have TONS of people looking for the few jobs that are out there. The groups of people looking fit into several categories:
You know the people that love to play Black Jack and always seem to be winning (the ones you watch winning vs. the lying braggart's that seem to win only after you go to bed!). Well, the ones that are good are Black Jack Players, they know how to play the hand, they know the deck, they know the house and they WIN.
OK, you are currently working and you just don't have the time to find ALL the jobs out there. Worse, you are out of work and…Continue

Have you found it difficult to know exactly what Job Board(s) rule? Should you should plunk money down for more than one? Even just 5 to 8 years ago you would have had a small selection of Job Resource to tap into; Monster, Career Builder and maybe just one main niche Job Board.
Now, in the Medical Sales Sector, there are…Continue

"Do one thing every day that scares you” - Eleanor Roosevelt
Have you ever wondered what would happen if you decided to take a step into thin air? Does the idea scare you? Do you believe a stepping stone will appear?
Courage to go after what you want frequently requires such action. Whether you decide to take a leap or a stride, the idea is to consider what might make you want to do…Continue

Come on, we all know how to close the hiring medical sales manager for that sales job, right? After coaching sales representatives on how to close when I was a sales manager, and now as a recruiter, I have come to one conclusion: not all people know how to closea medical sales call or a job interview appropriately. What is even worse?
Do you remember what seems to be just awhile ago that almost everyone wanted to go with a pharmaceutical sales or medical device start up company? You know, the place you go where they can give you a good base pay and forgo the commission for the real big bucks when the company was sold or maybe, just maybe became a star in their own right?

You all call and ask, “I am finding a few jobs out there, and even getting to the final interview, only to find out I did not get the job; WHAT’S GOING ON?”.
Then of course I have to say, “funny, we have a few jobs, send several qualified people that almost always make it to the final interview and lately they often don’t get the job, in fact very few outside candidates get the job lately!”. Now we both know this is not…Continue

I felt compelled to write an article this week about the calls and stories we have been receiving from many of you, sales representatives and sales managers alike. Many of you have been through the wringer, sitting by your home office phone, as instructed by your company, waiting for your scheduled call from your HR Department or immediate manager; the call where you will be told if you will be one of the lucky ones…Continue

Job Candidates often will know what a Brag Book is or at least a fuzzy concept of what it should be; it is the best vehicle available to support the content you have placed within your resume. Simply put, it is a book that say’s “Yep, I really did win all those sales awards and no lie, my resume is 100% true!”. It is becoming increasingly important and needed to…Continue

If you are interviewing for a Medical Sales Position you are very aware of the number of steps in the interview process with most companies. Typically somewhere after the 2nd interview you will be asked to travel in the field with one of the hiring companies recognized Sales Stars (a Field Sales Trainer or minimally, a sales representative that will show you a good productive day in the field).
Many of you may feel that this is a day that…Continue

A Resume today needs to be built in a “web data base” friendly way so it can be found by recruiters or Human Resources when sorting through those massive resume data bases! I continually sort through resume coaching books and Google around trying to find a good reference for our Job Seekers to go to as they build their resumes.
Well, I never found one, so I decided to make it my topic on this posting. If someone out there has a good source for what I am about to say,…Continue
