My Medical Device Sales Career
When I was given the pink slip following a 25 year career at Pfizer, I had a general idea that I'd like to enter the Financial Services Industry. With the help of my personal financial adviser and saving in the Company 401k Plan, I had made a good start in preparing for retirement. I enjoyed the process and became convinced I could help others reach their goals, too.
But how can you know for sure what's right for you?
Remember, you are in good company if you find yourself at a crossroads in your career. Even though they don't appear that way, most jobs are rooted in sales. At the end of the day, your task is to uncover customer needs and meet them! When I was going through a transition about 5 years ago, Marcus Buckingham's second book, "Now, Discover Your Strengths" was invaluable. It helped me identify career choices that matched what I like to do AND what I have aptitude for. When you are pondering the future of your career, you'll need to make similar considerations.
If you have questions about the Financial Industry or about your personal investing scenario, I am happy to assist.
