Linda Hertz & Barbara Patterson: Girls On A Mission!
I've committed to participating in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. It's a big commitment, that has required me to spend the past several months training and fundraising. But breast cancer is a big disease, one that still affects far too many people, and I'm determined to do everything I can to help put an end to it. The money I raise will be managed and disbursed by the Avon Foundation Breast Cancer Crusade to help provide access to care for those that most need it, fund educational programs, and accelerate research into new treatments and potential cures. I'll be just one of thousands of people that will walk up to a marathon and a half over a weekend, raising awareness of the cause and educating even more people.
My interest in the Avon Walk is personal on many levels; my best friend, Barbara Patterson, was diagnosed with Breast Cancer last October (2010) and I have been with her from the beginning and happy to say that she is cancer free and just completed her last radiation treatment 2 weeks ago (as of today, July 5, 2011). She has many more steps to go in her recovery and we are walking together in the Santa Barbara, CA Sept. 17th and 18th Avon Walk to raise awareness and funds for treatment. You see, she found her Breast Cancer in time, something my Aunt (Breast Cancer) and my own Mother (Ovarian Cancer) did not understand when they passed away from this disease. I am walking in honor of my best friend, in memory of my loved ones lost to this disease AND to bring awareness to those not yet touched by breast cancer; AWARENESS would have saved my aunt.
As an Executive Recruiter (and owner of my own company tied to the job market), I am fully aware of the hardships many of you may be facing with employment and financially surviving this economic downturn. I understand things are tight right now, if you can afford to donate ANYTHING, it will be appreciated. In addition, I am offering my professional career services and 100% of the proceeds will go to the Avon Foundation and paid directly to them HERE. Hit the "donation" button and any amount is welcome. I have added a new Career Service tab on our Linda Hertz Group website detailing the suggested donations for my services and again, 100% of the proceeds goes to the Avon Foundation and will also be a tax deduction for your 2011 taxes.
I can't do it without your help. Though I'm required to raise at least $1,800 in donation, I plan to raise much more...like $10,000! Your $1 or $5 or whatever you can afford to give will add up into just that "MORE"! Special thanks to my oldest daughter making brownies and selling them at her place of work and my 14 year old twins lemonade stand and donating the funds to the Avon Foundation!
I hope that I can count on your support too!
You can make a donation to my fundraising campaign directly on my page on the Avon website HERE and click on the pink "Donate Now" button. If you prefer to write a check, just contact me and I'll send you the information and form. After publishing this Blog I will work on my Career Service tab at the Linda Hertz Group site if you desire my professional career services that will be 100% Tax Deductable(Linkedin Training, Power Interview Coaching, Accelerated Job Search Tips, Resume Development and Career Coaching). Most of you know that I have done these services in the past but this time I will be donating 100% of my services and payment for those services directly to Avon (you donate directly to them for my services).
Thank you in advance.
