My Medical Device Sales Career
Or… is it? Holiday celebrations arrive whether we are ready or not. Even when we are unhappy or conflicted, those around us seem to be ok, right? I saw the message below on my facebook page, and asked my friend Donna if I might share it with you. I hope it speaks to you as it did to me. Anita Onarecker
Habakkuk 3:17-19 says:
Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The Sovereign LORD is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights.
What season are you in? We all go through seasons where it seems that Heaven is pouring out the blessings until you cannot contain it. However, what do you do when you go through uncertain times? What do you do when illness threatens? What do you do when your job fails? What do you do when the people you counted on cannot be there for you? What do you do when you lose a loved one and your heart is aching from the pain? What do you do when the person you counted on to love you forever suddenly changes their mind? Just think about it. What do you do?
You have a choice. You can let it cause you to run to Jesus, turnaround from the direction you've been going, and go the way the Lord is leading you, OR you can run... run to whatever false hope you can find. Whatever will dull your mind. Whatever will give you a few minutes of euphoria... but when that's over... you always have to come back down.
Is there a refuge.? Is there peace? Is there joy that cannot be taken away? Yes indeed... that's the gospel! Jesus! Jesus! Jesus! The joy of the Lord is our strength! He is our peace… a peace that passes all understanding. A peace unlike ANY other. That's what Christmas is all about! Joy to the world! The Lord is come!!!
