What Do You Want To Be When You Grow Up And Hit 40?

Remember the time when people asked you what you want to be when you grow up?   People begin to stop asking not only others, but certainly themselves the same question as they get into their middle twenties.  My question is; Why? Why do we assume that the question is only valid for those youngsters in their teens or for those of college age?  Is it because we physically stop…

How Much Will YOU Pay? 2013 Tax Rates and Brackets

We have all heard the saying, "It is not the amount of money you make, but the amount of money you keep."  There are those that would not agree with that saying, buts lets face it, those people making a million a year have an easier time keeping most of it than the person making $40,000 covering basic living expenses!   So what is the effective new tax rates for 2013?  I found this insert table from, an article written by Nick Kasprak on January 3rd:

Learn How to Decode the Pre-Employment Test: Part I

Almost all the large companies have their own version of a Pre-Employment Test.  Some of us call them a Personality Test or a Company "Best Fit" Test.  One thing they all have in common is that most companies do value them and yes, they can prevent you from getting the job if you bomb them!  They can also be used as a tie-breaker if they can't decide between two candidates…

10 Things You Must Find Out During the Field Sales Ride Visit to Get To the Final Interview

I wrote an older Blog on the basics of how to handle the all important "Field Ride" part of the interview process.  For those new to this term, almost all medical device companies include the job candidate travel in the sales field for a solid day with one of their sales people or sales trainers.  This is a VERY important part of the process and usually is inserted into the…

Presenting a Big Thick Brag Book Like It's 1985? Then You Need To Change Your Style!

Wow! Here is something that just didn't line up for me! I took a job candidate, John, who I just placed into a new job, to lunch this past week. He starts his job in a few days. What About Larry? A Story about Sales Leadership, Chapter 1-The Call

Larry put down his phone, frankly he felt like throwing the company issued phone at his company car sitting in his driveway.
