My Medical Device Sales Career
Yesterday I did a little research on a familiar passage from a daily devotion: I Peter 5:6-7: Humble yourselves therefore, under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your anxiety upon Him, because He cares for you. (NASB)
As I looked deeper, I found this passage says, “don’t give in to soul-pride.” Do you ever struggle thinking God has overlooked you? Does life challenge you with adversity or difficulties? Peter must have understood this too when God placed these words on his heart. This particular pride issue whispers “God forgot you; He probably doesn’t love you for ______ to happen in your life.” Or, “I’m not as useful or special as _________[that person you think has a great worry-free life]. Such thoughts come from the root of pride, not from God.
The Greek words of this verse tell us to remember God puts us where we are. Our life situation allows the choice to place ourselves under the mighty power of God! Wherever we are today, God says come, rest in my presence; trust My power: trust I care.
This passage reminds us that HIS hand determines our days… that HIS hand controls the destiny of men.Are you willing to trust your days to Him?
How do we humble ourselves and display trust in God ... by casting all our cares, concerns and anxieties upon Him. A picture here is a huge 18-wheeler truck, fully loaded. Now, the load is transferred to the owner’s dock; the load is changed to another’s responsibility.
Act. Choose. Depend on God. It is not passive or happenstance—this choice is intentional and purposeful. It declares you chose to allow God to shape your life, to commit your circumstance and life to Him.
We all need encouragement to remember He CARES for you!!
